"Focus.Io ( Digital Distractions) "motion design process

Animation done as part of the Advanced Motion Methods course from School of Motion.

Project overview

Focus.io's mission is to help people get away from distractions on their digital devices and focus on what’s truly important.

This animation is for a campaign on Instagram with some quick tips to get people interested in how Focus.Io can help them be more focused and productive throughout the day, and stop being distracted by their phone.

Script is provided, and also some boards that were designed by the brilliant minds at Illo.

Brief

Complete the animation from where Sander Van Dijk left off.

That includes animating scene 2, scene 3, and the final outro scene that includes the eyes and logo resolve.

Try to use Match Cuts to go from the graphics to the titles within each scene, and use more elaborate transitions to go from one scene to the next.

Process

I started by taking notes of how to achieve smooth transitions by using Match Cuts and employing more complex techniques.

I then created an animatic based on those notes so that I could define the timing and pacing of the animation.

Finally after the animatic and the first draft, I refined the timing and transitions to create a cohesive and engaging final product.

Let's Talk

What is my strong suit?

-I can develop a Full Creative plan, from storyboard to design/illustrate style frames then animate them.

-I closely follow brand guidelines but at the same time I incorporate high level of creativity, trying to avoid the obvious.

-Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects are my bread and butter but I am always open to learning new techniques and softwares.

-I go ABOVE AND BEYOND in every task.
