"Seed & Stem"motion design process

Final project completed for the "Advanced Motion Methods"course provided by School of Motion

Project Overview

Houseplants have a lot of different benefits, but many people have no clue how to keep them alive.

Seed & Stem provides care tips and education so people know how to keep their plants alive.

Brief

We need a 15 to 20 second spot created for use on various social media outlets to get people interested in our mission at Seed&Stem.

Script is provided, VO, and some boards that were designed by the very talented Sarah Beth.

Process

I started by glancing at all the frames together so that I could come up with ideas on how to make transitions between them in a way that would result smooth and interesting.

I took notes of what came to mind.

I then created an animatic based on those notes so that I could have a more solid animation plan.

Some of the techniques used for the final animation are:

-Using a combination of 2D and 3D layers

-Parallax
